SMS III is a portable, laser-optical device that can
be taken anywhere in the field or
shop to make accurate measurements of
scratches or surface irregularities.
Precise width, depth, and
peak-to-peak measurements of gaps,
scratches and other surface conditions can be
made in seconds. The extent of damage
or surface irregularity can be determined
on the spot and a ‘video snapshot’ saved for later
analysis. Results may be printed to standard PC-style printers or sent
via serial port to a data collector. No ‘thumbnail’ tests or feeler
gages and wondering about accuracy. Measure gaps, surface mismatches, and
flushness accurately in seconds. Record the data, view, and print a pictorial
representation.
